AAAGP Highlights for GP & PHC Conference Hobart 2008

Annual Members Dinner

The AAAGP annual Gala Dinner will be held at Café Toulouse Wed 4 June @ 7.30pm. Registration is via the conference registration form. The prestigious Bridges-Webb medal will be awarded during the evening by Prof Charles Bridges-Webb and the recipient will be invited to give a brief response. This evening is a popular event providing an excellent opportunity to network with some of Australia’s finest researchers and academics within the general practice environment. Members $85 and non-members $100.

Most Distinguished Papers

Two distinguished papers will be selected by a committee of AAAGP members from all abstracts submitted. These papers will then be presented during the AAAGP plenary session on Wed 6 June 3.30pm -5.00pm. Both presenters will receive a framed award.

Best First Time Presenter

Members of AAAGP will judge all First Time Presenters who apply for this award. The winner will be presented at the closing of the conference with book vouchers to the value of $250 and a framed award. Download an application form. Applications close 20 May 2008.

HODs Meeting

AAAGP is auspicing a HODisc/Dept GP meeting for Saturday 8th June 8.30am-3pm, following on from the GP&PHC ASM. We will be holding it at the School of Medicine Boardroom, 43 Collins St Hobart a short walk from the conference facility. This room has video and teleconferencing facilities so those who don't attend the conference can still attend this meeting.

Members Meeting

Our general members meeting will be held on Wed 4 June 5.00 - 6.30pm. Members attendance is strongly encouraged. Our AGM will be held at the RACGP Scientific Convention 1-5 October 2008.
